in poison, when timber comes home he hears harry pope, his roomate, urgently calling for him. when timber enters harry's room, harry gives him a list of instructions on what to do and not to question it and he complies. then harry soon tells timber he has had a snake laying on his stomach for hours. timber has zero idea what to do until he figures out to call a doctor, ganderbai. dr. ganderbai gives harry a serum but doesn't know if it will work or not so he orders timber to go get some chloroform from his house while he stays there with harry. timber soon returns and they slowly start to put chloroform all over harry's bed. dr. ganderbai and timber eventually pull harry's sheet off very slowly and they revel nothing laying on harry's stomach or anywhere in his bed.

in this short story, harry takes the survival precautions of staying really still and not moving and he speaks below a whisper to try and not wake up the snake, even though it wasn't really there. harry may had been dreaming and thought he had felt a snake in his dream but it was a false perception of reality, he didn't actually check to see if it was there. harry had still taken the survival precautions so he wouldn't wake the snake and frighten the snake so it didn't bite him.

i would recommend this story to another person because it's good and short. it kinda teaches you to be careful of somethings even though they may or may not be real.

the kinds great lengths people would go to in order to survive would more depend on the type of person they are. people have gone cannibal to survive, which is a little crazy and scary. people hunt and kill animals, each other, kill each other, pick fruits and stuff off plants in order to survive too.

Fight or Flight

last summer my cousins, my 7 year old brother, my boyfriend and i were at my house and we were all having a sleepover while my stepmom went out with one of her friends and my dad was out of town on a business trip so we were completely home alone. there was a gate at the top of my staircase to separate my 2 dogs from my 3 cats because one of my dogs, he was new to my family and he is a rescue, didn't get along with my cats. somebody left the gate open so my cat Bella went downstairs and my dogs chased after her and cornered her in the downstairs bathroom. i started screaming for someone to come help me and my cousin becca because we were the only two downstairs at that time. we got one of my dogs out of the bathroom and during that time my dog Lexi, who has been around these cats since we got her, took my cat in her mouth and i knew in that moment there was literally nothing i could do to save my cat, Lexi is a pitbull boxer mix and pitbull's jaws lock and you cant open them. 

from the moment it all started i was in complete shock. i was a mess. i was screaming and crying for someone to help and everyone was screaming at me trying to figure out what to do but i just stood there and did nothing. i had my cousin ryan and boyfriend joel try to do something to have my dog's jaw unlock but nothing worked. i left the bathroom and just stood there in my living room crying with my cousin becca. i had my cousin emily and gracie turn the tv on in my room and make sure the volume was really loud and for him not to come out until i said so. then i paced around my house and started doing the dishes and picking up all my brother's toys, while crying, and then my boyfriend came and grabbed me and i fell to the floor crying because i didn't know what to do. my cousin becca called their dad and told him everything that happened and he was there within minutes. he asked me where trash bags and paper towels were and he cleaned up the mess for me. soon after he called my stepmom and told her what happened and she was there in the next 15 minutes. so i think its pretty accurate to what my test score is. i think im more of a flighter than a fighter depending on the situation, i made sure my brother was okay and he didn't see or hear anything that was going on

when i was 10 i was at home watching my brother, stepmom and dad's child, with my mom my brother and i were in the bathroom and i was brushing my teeth or hair or something like that and he was sitting on the toilet. i walked out of the bathroom to go tell my mom something and as i was walking back into the bathroom i see my brother falling face first off the toilet and on his way down he hit the metal railing on my bathtub and split his eye open. i ran to pick him up and i set him on the counter and started cleaning up the blood and calling for my mom. she told me she'd call my dad and stepmom while i cleaned him up and bandaged him up that would last until we got to the hospital and i did what was needed.

some of the survival situations i hope to never be in would be being stranded on an island somewhere and/or being in a plane crash and being injured and still having to figure out a way to survive in the middle of nowhere. i don't think i would be able to survive either one of those and dying is a big fear of mine even though its inevitable and everyone dies at some point but i just don't want to die an unfinished life.

1. I think the definition of survivor is someone who has gone through some hardships, war, stranded somewhere and has come back from it.
2. I do know a survivor, my great grandpa was drafted into the Vietnam War start to finish and he obviously saw and experienced a lot and he did suffer from ptsd. 
3. There is many types of survivors, people who survive a war,  people who have been stranded somewhere, someone whose been dealing with depression or anorexia, and its a show too.

1. I could not live without coffee because I'd probably die in the mornings/afternoons without it
2. I could not live without my family because they keep me sane but insane at the same time
3. I could not live without my dogs because I love them very much and they're the cutest things in the world
4. I could not live without my bed because it is big and comfy and i love it
5. I could not live without a shower because I hate feeling the feeling of being dirty and smelly and my hair being greasy
6. I could not live without food and water because I'd die, literally
7. I could not live without pictures because I love capturing memories
8. I could not live without my car because it'd take forever to get anywhere and I'd have very limited places I could go
9. I could not live without the news because I like knowing what's going on in the world
10. I could not live without my phone because I like maintaining contact with my friends in California and keep up to date onto what my friends in California have been doing
