The House on Mango Street- Author

  1.  Sandra was the only girl out of 7 children and her father was a mexican immigrant and her mother worked in a factory so they were poor. when Sandra was in her youth she had trouble making friends and feeling like she belonged in a new school. she found a way to escape her lonely childhood, she found reading and she liked to read fairy tales. her mother helped her get a library card.
  2. the similarities i found between my life and Sandra's was that we both moved to a completely new state. i didn't have any friends nor did i know anybody so i just kept to myself for a while. but whats different from mine and sandra's life is our families and the money. my parents broke up when i was three so they never have had to struggle with money.
  3. sandra never gave up on her dream, she found her voice in middle school and continued to go through with it all throughout high school and college. she eventually made a book about everyone and everything she knows. i found her lesson in the third paragraph. it says "... Cisneros found her unique writing voice".
  4. i think Sandra is a really talented, strong women. she went through a lot and people had high expectations of her and she excelled at those and went above and beyond what everyone expected of her. she's written a handful of books that have gotten awards and such so she's obviously talented.

April 24, 2017

i think people complain about things they shouldn't especially our generation of teens/ young adults and little kids. my brother is 7 years old and he complains about doing his 4 question homework assignments twice a week. i do complain about a lot of things and i shouldn't be a hypocrite but i am. i complain about slow drivers and have serious rode rage. i complain about slow texters and my slow data but they're reasonable. some of the people i know complain about the smallest, dumbest things. rich people complain about not having their back massaged twice a week instead of 3. or some people complain about their family which is totally unreasonable and its like wtf??? don't take your family and friends for granted because there's a possibility something can happen and you never get them back. there's some amazing people out there and people definitely take them for granted.

childhood memory

my favorite childhood memory is when my great grandparents were alive, my whole family would go over to their house and have a family dinner night and we'd do that once or twice every week. there was this one time that i remember the most vividly is when my cousins and i were all playing outside and we were all 4 or 5 years old and my cousin Ryan picked up a live snail and ate it, shell and all. then he got put on a time out and after he got off we went back outside to play and he found a lizard and wanted to catch it but he grabbed it by the tail and ripped the tail off and stuck it in his mouth.
